The Victorian Branch Dairy Goat Society of Australia Inc., functions under the rules of the DGSA Ltd and has as its main responsibility the implementation of the Society's objectives, which in part include:

Federal Council was held in Hobart on 18th and 19th May
ARTICLE AMENDMENT 11f
11f states "If he registers goats of any dairy breed with any other body other than those approved by this Society membership is to be terminated."
The motion to remove this was lost.
From the 1/1/19 the British Alpine upgrade registration system for bucks will no longer exist. Members may still use currently registered Appendix Bucks.
Cadet Judges at Level 1 need to judge a minimum one recognised show with a Level 3 or 4 judge before been accepted into Level 2.
The Federal Website is to be redeveloped by Belinda Appleton.
11e Article is to be enforced.
If you do not pay your membership fees by 31/12/18 you will cease to be a member. You then need to apply to rejoin and pay your prefix fees again.
No increase in fees this year.
UPDATE ON TAGGING
Currently the exemptions for Dairy Goats are still in place.
John Falkenhagen showed us an electronic leg tag which hopefully will be accepted by NLIS bodies.
The new tag has tags attached that allow it to be make bigger three times as the animal grows.
When the exemption is lifted members will be given education on how to use the tags. You will have a choice of ear tags or leg bands.
